Chris Bernay, the director and principal designer at Studio Picante, is a driving force in design with over 25 years in the industry and a devoted cycling enthusiast. Splitting his life between his family, cycling, work, and traveling, Chris takes his road bike or mountain bike wherever he goes around the globe. He has held key roles like Regional Creative Director at the renowed American advertising agency Leo Burnett, Art Director at the cult-favorite EDM label, Dirtybird Records, Creative Director at the fast-growing startup from Dallas, Glorious Gaming, and previously served as Art Director for D-Mode Magazine. Known for its cutting-edge fashion, lifestyle, and art content, D-Mode was an influential publication in Buenos Aires, blending avant-garde visuals with modern cultural insights.
Chris’s work has garnered recognition on Adweek Talent Gallery, AIGA Members Gallery, Wacom Gallery, Pantone Canvas, as well as in Branding Served, Design Served, Web Served, and Typography Served on Behance Network. He has been featured in interviews and publications such as Baron Mag (Canada), Resource Magazine (NYC), Status Magazine (Indonesia), Coldplay.com (UK), DMAG, Soko (Argentina), WeAndTheColor.com, liguedulettrage.com, FromUpNorth.com, abduzeedo.com, and numerous others. In 2024, he was awarded two ODA design honors: a gold for branding and a category winner for packaging.
As a multiple-times featured guest on Adobe Live, Chris has consistently showcased his expertise and process for creating brand identities and advertising to a global audience through live streams at Behance Network and YouTube, and currently he is an official mentor for the Adobe Apprenticeship Program, launched at Adobe MAX London in 2025.
Chris has contributed to renowned brands and enterprises like AdRoll, Nerds, Levi's, Nike, Marlboro, Pepsi, Fiat, Procter & Gamble, and Diageo. Furthermore, he has led the development of brand identities and packaging for emerging startups worldwide, including the fast-growing companies Glorious Gaming based in Dallas, Texas, and PuraFrutta from Patagonia, Argentina.
