Adobe commissioned Jump! Festival for Adobe Live as an educational branding project created for its global design community.
The fictional art and music festival for kids was conceived as the framework for two live sessions exploring how an identity develops from an initial idea into a broader visual system. Set at the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Sausalito, the brief gave the project enough real-world context to approach the process as a complete brand rather than a standalone design exercise.
The process was the content. Decisions, iterations and creative reasoning were shared as they happened, giving viewers direct access to the development of the identity rather than presenting only a finished result.
The visual language grew from the movement and elasticity of twisted balloons, shaping the logotype and a playful illustration system. A saturated palette moved away from the primary colors often associated with children’s brands, giving Jump! a brighter, more contemporary character.
Following the broadcasts, the identity was expanded and refined into the complete body of work presented here.
Chris Bernay led both sessions. Across Behance and YouTube, the broadcasts have accumulated more than 15,000 combined views.
Jump! is part of a relationship with Adobe that has developed over several years through multiple Adobe Live collaborations and continues today through the Adobe Creative Apprenticeship program, where Bernay mentors emerging creatives entering the industry.
