DIRTYBIRD CAMPOUT MUSIC FESTIVAL 2019

The 2019 edition of Dirtybird Campout was a memorable gathering for fans of house, techno, and bass music. Held in Modesto Reservoir Campgrounds, California, this immersive festival combined music, games, and community spirit in a camp-like environment where festival-goers could experience much more than just the music. The lineup featured heavy-hitters in electronic music, including Claude VonStroke, Justin Martin, Walker & Royce, Shiba San, and Ardalan, creating an electrifying atmosphere that kept attendees dancing through the weekend. Beyond music, the festival embraced a summer camp feel, offering quirky activities like tug-of-war, archery, sack races, and a talent show, adding a playful and nostalgic layer to the experience.

For the 2019 Dirtybird Campout, Studio Picante took full creative control, marking its second collaboration with the festival and its first time overseeing the entire art direction. This large-scale project demanded approximately nine months of dedicated work, encompassing every detail from brand development to the festival’s visual identity. The process included a comprehensive advertising campaign that ran for six months leading up to the event, generating excitement and anticipation among festival-goers, and continued with additional materials for a month afterward.

Studio Picante’s approach brought together the playful, eccentric aesthetic that Dirtybird is known for, while introducing new elements to reflect the unique vibe of the 2019 Campout. The design work spanned multiple touchpoints—branding materials, posters, social media assets, and venue signage—crafting a cohesive identity that captured the spirit of Dirtybird’s community.
